The cotton planting area in Burkina Faso is 590,000 hectares, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and the output is expected to increase by 8% to 985,000 bales. Export volume was 960,000 packages, a year-on-year decrease of 12%.
The cotton planting area and output of the above three countries in 2020/21 were 739,000 hectares and 1.24 million bales respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 44% and 45% respectively. The main reason is that the area and output of Mali Production dropped significantly.
