As of mid-April, Shandong’s cotton planting work has been fully launched. The cotton market in Liaocheng is still sluggish. Farmers’ enthusiasm for planting cotton has dropped again. There are few cotton growers this year. The specific investigation is as follows:
Currently, ginneries in Liaocheng, Shandong have stopped harvesting seed cotton for nearly a month. Since mid-March, Zheng cotton has fallen below the 60-day moving average and entered a downward channel. Spot lint cotton has fallen back step by step, and few people are interested in real estate cotton. The supply of local seed cotton is scarce and difficult to harvest, and the cost of purchasing seed cotton from outside is high. The ginners are faced with a dilemma in purchasing and selling, so they have no choice but to stop harvesting to avoid risks. This week (April 19-23), Zheng cotton and cotton yarn fluctuated and adjusted, but their support for spot prices was limited. Among them, the main contract of CF2109 reached a high of 15,470 yuan/ton on Wednesday. Although it was 400 yuan/ton higher than last Wednesday’s high, it did not provide enough support for the spot, especially for real estate cotton. Because demand is still not ideal, the market is difficult to pick up, and local ginners are still No intention of entering the market for acquisition.
Cotton yarn futures prices fluctuated and rebounded, with the main contract high of CY2109 on Wednesday reaching 22,935 yuan/ton, an increase of 580 yuan/ton from the high of 2 last Wednesday. Cotton yarn futures rose, local spot cotton yarn was mainly stable, and the quotations of individual varieties were lowered. Among them, the factory price of carded ring spinning machine woven 32 is 24,200 yuan/ton, and the factory price of 24 is 17,000 yuan/ton, which is 400 yuan/ton lower than last week. The current products are still in good condition, but the processing profit has dropped compared with the previous period. In order to reduce raw material costs, cotton mills purchase lint cotton as needed and maintain low inventories. However, since real estate cotton is not cost-effective, cotton mills rarely use it, which seriously drags down the local cotton market.
Although cotton farmers have less cotton in hand, it is difficult to sell it at a high price. The enthusiasm of local farmers for planting has been greatly suppressed, and most plots have been replanted with other crops. Local cotton planting is divided into two modes: advance seedlings in nutrient bowls and direct seeding of cotton seeds into the ground. Most of the seedlings grown in advance in nutrient pots have grown two leaves and one heart or two hearts. They will be put into the ground one after another in the near future, and it is the best time for direct sowing. As the local weather continues to be rainy this week, the watering problem of cotton planting has been solved for the relatively dry plots, but the work of planting pots or direct sowing into the ground may not be carried out until the plots become soft next week. </p
