Exclusive news from China Cotton Network: On May 7, cotton subsidies in Jinghe area of Xinjiang were successively distributed, with the disbursement standard being 1.18 yuan/kg. This subsidy payment has effectively alleviated the financial constraints of cotton farmers and also reduced the pressure on new cotton field management.
Since February this year, cotton farmers across Xinjiang have successively received 2020 cotton subsidies. According to Xinjiang Fangcao Lake Farm, 569,000 acres of cotton were grown locally last year, with a yield of 446 kilograms. Since mid-February, it has received subsidies of 128 million yuan. A cotton farmer in Jiashi Prefecture, Xinjiang, said that he has received the first batch of cotton subsidies in 2020 since late April this year, with the subsidy price being 0.5 yuan/kg.
