In June 2021, Shanxi Saifu Anhuan Technology Co., Ltd. announced the safety acceptance evaluation report of Shanxi Woneng Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.’s 300,000 tons/year ethylene glycol co-production LNG construction project.
Shanxi Woneng Chemical’s 300,000 tons/year ethylene glycol co-production LNG project started in August 2018. Completed in May 2020. Trial production will begin in July 2020.
Shanxi Woneng comprehensive tail gas production 300,000 tons/year ethylene glycol co-production LNG project uses coke oven gas and converter gas by-products of Shanxi Liheng Steel as raw materials. , H2/CO cryogenic separation, using the CTEG technology of Gaochem and Donghua Technology Consortium to produce 300,000 tons/year of ethylene glycol and co-produce 156 million cubic meters/year of LNG.
Project Overview
Shanxi Woneng The chemical industry’s 300,000 tons/year ethylene glycol co-production LNG project is located in Taizitan Industrial Park, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, with a total investment of nearly 4 billion yuan. It is a key chemical project in Shanxi Province. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will produce 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year. alcohol and 150,000 tons of liquefied natural gas.
The project makes full use of the complementary advantages of converter gas with more carbon and less hydrogen, and coke oven gas with less carbon and more hydrogen to produce high added value. Ethylene glycol products, while the CH4 rich in coke oven gas is used to produce LNG through cryogenic technology. The successful implementation of the project will set a precedent in the comprehensive utilization of converter gas and coke oven gas. Compared with other gas utilization methods, this method can reduce carbon emissions by 560,000 tons and reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by more than 700 tons per year.
This project is the first fine chemical project in China that uses coke oven gas, steelmaking converter gas and other comprehensive tail gas to produce ethylene glycol products. It is a transformational development , a representative project of green development. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will not only realize waste gas recovery, turn waste into treasure, and resource recycling, but also play a leading role in promoting transformation and upgrading of enterprises and the construction of ecological civilization.
