On the premise that my country’s cotton yarn imports and cotton yarn exports both showed a sharp decline in November, polyester-cotton yarn and polyester yarn exports went up against the market and outperformed the market, which is impressive.
Why did exports of polyester-cotton yarn and pure polyester yarn hit a new high in the year in November? The industry summarizes the following points:
First, since August, as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries started the textile and garment industry “in spite of the disease”, the order taking/order arrangement/delivery capacity has gradually returned to the epidemic level, and the demand for blended yarns such as polyester and cotton has increased. , the consumer demand for pure polyester yarn continues to rebound. Compared with pure cotton yarn (60S and below), except for a few countries such as Indonesia, yarn mills can spin T/C 65/35 45S, T/C 65/35 32S, pure polyester 40S, and pure polyester 32S yarn. Southeast Asian yarn mills still need to import high-count blended yarns and high-count pure polyester yarns.
Second, since the 2021/22 year, the price difference between 3128/3129 cotton and 1.4D direct-spun polyester staple fiber has significantly widened (the current price difference is still more than 15,000 yuan/ton, much higher than the normal price difference between the two). On the one hand, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East From the perspective of profit and risk, brand companies and retailers such as Japan and South Korea have increased their inquiry/purchase efforts for polyester-cotton and other blended products and pure polyester products; on the other hand, domestic cotton yarn prices have continued to fall, and the production and sales of yarn mills have remained flat or even upside down. Under the circumstances, some yarn mills promptly adjusted their product structure – reducing the production capacity of pure cotton yarn and switching to blended yarn and pure polyester yarn (the profit situation is significantly better than that of cotton yarn, and the inventory accumulation rate is also low).
Third, compared with pure cotton yarn, the export of polyester yarn, polyester-cotton yarn and other blended yarns is not restricted by the U.S. government’s import ban on Xinjiang cotton products, and exports to the EU, ASEAN, Japan, South Korea and other economies are relatively smooth.
