What will our living environment be like in the future? Scientists predict that by 2030, self-heating beds and self-cleaning clothes will make bedrooms more comfortable; 3D printers, hydroponic nutrition stations, dry ice washing machines and interactive cooking platforms will make kitchens more magical; computer screens will be transformed into flexible shower curtains and smart windows. Form appears before us.
Scientists predict that in 2017 there will be self-cleaning fabrics, truly waterproof materials, and fabrics that can control temperature according to the climate. By 2020, “smart windows” will appear in bedrooms, serving as both windows and screens; the shower curtain in the bathroom will transform into a flexible screen, allowing users to watch social media programs while taking a shower with recycled water; and there will also be magic full-length mirrors. It can be used as an all-in-one computer screen and has a real wardrobe function, allowing users to simulate the wearing effect of different clothes without trying them on, and can provide suitable dressing suggestions based on the user’s clothing style.
Scientists also predict that by 2025, there will be self-heating towels containing invisible nanotechnology and tactile feedback clothing that can simulate the breeze. In 2030, users can grow crops with the help of “hydroponic nutrition stations”, pick fresh ingredients at any time in their own kitchens, and cook and eat on the multi-functional “extensible interactive cooking station”.
What is even more exciting is that 3D printers will be widely used in homes in the future. Users can download “recipes” from the Internet and use raw material modules to print a wide range of daily necessities, from tools and electronic components to food and clothing.
