According to Daily Science Network, an international team recently developed a new flexible plastic memory chip.

They obtained a transparent film-like flexible smart chip by transplanting a high-performance magnetic memory chip onto a flexible plastic surface.

It is reported that this kind of flexible plastic memory chip has excellent data storage performance and processing capabilities, and is expected to become a key component of the new generation of wearable devices.

The research team said that scientists first planted magnesium oxide-based magnetic tunnel junctions on a silicon surface, then etched away the excess silicon, and then used transfer printing methods to inject them on a flexible plastic made of polyethylene terephthalate. On the surface, a magnetic memory chip is implanted.

At present, the team has applied for patents for this technology in South Korea and the United States, and they are currently preparing to further improve the magnetic resistance of the device and plan to apply it to a wider range of electronic devices.
