Yarn-dyed corduroy
(1) Basic characteristics: The cloth surface of yarn-dyed wick thread presents wick-like velvet strips. It is a weft pile fabric. After the natural cotton cloth is cut and piled, the surface of the fabric has clear and rounded warp strips. It is formed from the pile of pile weft yarn and is shaped like a rush. Corduroy fabric is beautiful and elegant, thick and warm, soft to the touch, elastic, soft and lustrous, and has poor wear resistance. It is a popular fabric suitable for spring, autumn and winter, especially suitable for children’s work wear. Excellent corduroy fabric has the characteristics of “mellow, clear, full and strong”. Firmness means that the fluff is not easy to fall off, that is, there is no shedding and less shedding. The front side of corduroy fabric is not easy to shed. Its lint problem mainly occurs on the back of the fabric. (2) Fabric design Corduroy is made up of one set of warp yarns and two sets of weft yarns interlaced. One set of weft yarns (called ground weft) and warp yarns are interlaced to form a ground texture that consolidates the pile. The other group of weft yarns (called pile weft) and warp yarns are interlaced. They are interlaced to form regular floating wefts, which are cut to form velvet strips. The structure of corduroy can be plain weave, twill weave or weft heavy plain weave. When the plain weave is a ground weave, it is easy to cut the pile, the fabric has high breaking strength and many interlacing points, which also limits the density of the weft yarns. The finished product feels hard and the back of the fabric is prone to hair loss when rubbed. At present, plain weave changes are mostly used in production, including single warp protective layer and double warp protective layer, which can not only improve the hair removal phenomenon but also do not need to increase the weft density, but only need to increase Pj appropriately. With twill weave as the ground weave, there are fewer interlacing points, Pw can be increased, and the members feel soft, but the front side of the fabric is prone to delinting. Twill weave is often used to weave thicker, softer, tighter plush corduroy.
