Tightness of fabric
The tightness of the fabric indicates how tight the fabric is. It represents the percentage of the projected area of the spinning yarn in the fabric and its corresponding fabric area. The percentage covered by the projected area of warp yarns is called warp tightness (warp coverage), and the percentage covered by the projected area of weft yarns is called weft tightness (weft coverage). The tightness of the fabric has nothing to do with the specifications of the fabric. It is determined by the organization and structural state of the fabric (the buckling state of the warp and weft yarns). Generally, the “relative density” of the fabric is used to evaluate. The “relative density” of the fabric refers to the ratio of the diameter of the yarn to the average distance between two adjacent yarns in the fabric, expressed as a percentage:
