Planned to be put into production at the end of October this year
In August, good news came from the construction site of Tongkun Group Hengchao Chemical Fiber’s annual output of 600,000 tons of lightweight, comfortable and functional differentiated fiber project – the project has entered the equipment installation stage and is scheduled to be put into production at the end of October this year.
This project is the second phase project that Tongkun Group has invested heavily in construction again after the successful operation of the first phase of Hengchao project. The total investment of the project is 3.25 billion yuan. It will build polyester production equipment, introduce high-speed winding machine production lines, automatic winding lines, automatic packaging lines, and supporting domestic production equipment and public engineering equipment to form an annual output of 600,000 tons of lightweight comfort functions. It has a production capacity of 1,584 tons of sexually differentiated fibers and recycled acetaldehyde. The commissioning of the project will also further optimize the product structure, increase high added value and differentiation rate, and meet the multi-level needs of the market.

Build a new 3 million tons PTA
On August 1, 2022, the Administrative Approval Bureau of Qinzhou Port Area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone issued an announcement on the acceptance of the environmental impact report of the first phase of the new chemical materials project of the Tongkun Qinzhou Green Chemical Base.
The first phase of the new chemical materials project of Tongkun Qinzhou Green Chemical Base is a key project of Guangxi Tongkun Petrochemical Co., Ltd. It is built in the Qinzhou Port area of Qinzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region – China (Guangxi) Free Trade Pilot Zone, with a total investment of more than 20.9 billion yuan , planning to start construction in June 2022 and put into production in June 2025.
It is understood that the newly built 3 million tons/year PTA device adopts the two-step PTA production process and INVISTA’s latest generation PTA patented technology (P8+), which uses PX as raw material, cobalt acetate and manganese acetate. As a catalyst, bromide is used as a cocatalyst, air is introduced into the acetic acid solvent to perform an oxidation reaction to generate TA, and then the impurity 4-CBA contained in TA is removed through a hydrogenation reaction, and finally a high-purity PTA product is produced.
