The latest global long-staple cotton report released by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) states that global long-staple cotton production in 2021/22 is 290,000 tons, and exports are expected to be 191,000 tons.
In 2020/21, global long-staple cotton exports showed recovery growth, reaching 302,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 39%, and inventory was 213,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 32%.
In 2021/22, global long-staple cotton production is expected to be 290,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12%. Including the carryover inventory from the previous year, the total supply of long-staple cotton is 503,000 tons. The output mainly comes from India, the United States, Egypt, and China. has the highest inventory levels. Long-staple cotton consumption is expected to be 254,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15%. The main consumer countries are China and India. Long-staple cotton trade volume is expected to be 191,000 tons.
