According to data from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports in the first half of this year were US$18.6 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 17.6%, with most of the decline coming from apparel exports. The year-on-year decrease in the first five months of this year was 15.6%.
Like other apparel exporting countries, the main reason for the decline in Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports is the decrease in orders from the EU market.
